After three years of intensive sound research, wood experimentation, and shaping, we’re joyfully introducing to you today – the 33-tone chromatic kalimba, Auryn made of special ash wood.
The instrument’s development went through various stages, during which we addressed maintaining the purity and resonance of tones while optimally placing the tines for comfortable handling during play.
Auryn is a unique kalimba that successfully accommodates 33 tones in two rows. Its innovative shape provides excellent grip, balanced weight, and size. Comprising two rows of tines and mechanics, the lower row features full diatonic tones starting from the F3 note, while the upper row corresponds to pentatonic semitones.
The body of the instrument is made of beautiful ash wood, with hand carved sides, top and bottom of the kalimba. Delicate details highlight the beauty of the wood and the shape of the instrument. The wood is dense and therefore extremely sonorous.
Yet, what surprises most are its 2.5 octave range and the musical possibilities it brings. The tines’ layout allows both beginners and demanding artists to find fulfillment in playing. A sacred sound, resonating with 33 crystal-clear tones, balanced in depths and heights – that’s Auryn, the chromatic kalimba. Available in one piece.

As the research is still ongoing, during which we are searching for the perfect placement for the piezo in the pick-up version of Auryn, we are currently not including the amplification, i.e., the pick-up, in the price of the instrument.
You get the electroacoustic Auryn kalimba at the price of the acoustic version, with the pick-up system as a gift from us.

Body of the instrument
This kalimba is also made of wood, which has been dried for several years. We hand-made it out of walnut tree wood, which is characteristic with its soft and warm tone. Its sound qualities are guaranteed by carefully picking the trees with which we then work. Every kalimba that goes through such process sounds even better in the long run – thanks to frequent playing.
